Sand Castle Cottage is a stunning 6,000-square foot, luxury cottage on Sand Lake near the quaint town of Kearney, Ontario. With 100ft of sandy beach, it is ideal for families with young children. This cottage boasts seven bedrooms plus a nursery room, three master bedrooms with ensuites and three more bathrooms, for a total of 5.5 bathrooms. Sand Castle cottage sleeps 16 people and welcomes a maximum of 12 adults.

The deck at the entrance of the cottage is almost 600 square feet with a dining table which can seat 8 ppl, a large sectional seating are and teak bench swing. The cottage entrance features a large, warm and welcoming foyer with slate tiling. The deck also features a hard-piped propane grill.

The living room is open and flooded with natural light thanks to the cathedral ceilings and wall of windows. The hardwood floors, central air conditioning and wood-burning, double-sided fireplace in the living room (one side wood and other side gas) will make this a favourite spot for the family to gather. Firewood is complimentary for inside and beach. The cottage is equipped with high-speed wireless internet access and satellite TV.

From the living room, the walkout to the deck, provides views of the lake, through the evergreen trees. The deck has seating for the family and a propane BBQ.


The newly renovated, gourmet kitchen comes complete with stainless steel appliances including a fridge, range, dishwasher, microwave, Keurig Coffee maker, regular coffeemaker, custom-made counters, large island, and huge open dining area. The custom-made wood dining table can accommodate the 12 people when the inserts are in. There are also stools around the kitchen island.

Also, on the main level there are three bedrooms including one of the three is the master bedroom. This bedroom has a king-sized bed, a three-piece ensuite bathroom (wheel chair accessible for limited mobility with grab bars ) and features a 55" TV with DVD player. The bedroom with queenside bed has a door to the deck to enjoy a morning coffee or wake up swim and also a TV with DVD player.
The 3rd bedroom on the main floor has a Bunk bed with double on the the bottom and a twin over top.

The upper level offers four large bedrooms, two of them have ensuites. It has another master bedroom with king size bed, 65" TV, DVD and ensuite. It also features a small office space with printer and basic office supplies, a small meditation / yoga room and a large marble bath with a whirlpool tub, double-sinks and shower, huge closet and a private screened lounge overlooking the lake and woods. The lounge is equipped with a kitchenette, including a sink, bar fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle and Keurig. It is stocked with a variety of Coffee and teas.
The 2nd bedroom on the upper floor features another king size bed with 55" TV DVD and an ensuite with a rain fall shower.
The 3rd bedroom upstairs has a queenside bed with TV, DVD and a lovely Lakeview.
The 4th bedroom on the second floor is a small nursery with a single child bed and a comfy reading area. It is directly next to the Master Bedroom.

The cottage features 5.5 Bathrooms. Masterbed rooms have ensuite. The main floor has a shared full bath between the 2 bedrooms with Queenside beds. The basement has a new powder room beside the sauna room.
The upper floor has besides ensuite another shared bathroom between the rooms with queenside beds.


The landscaped stone pathway leading to the waterfront and the large sandy beach with fire pit area completes the perfect beach experience for a day of pure enjoyment. The water is very shallow making it easy to wade out for almost 200 feet. There is no dock at the cottage. Anchoring out where it is deep enough and wade in to the shore is the option for those with motor boats. The cottage is complete with paddle boat, canoe and two kayaks for hours of lake exploration and adventures. There is a variety of lifejackets, please note that Children 16 and under must wear proper fitting life jackets, brought from home.

There are plenty of chairs to enjoy the outdoors.


There are several outfitters in the area to rent a canoe, kayak or ATV (lots of great trails in the area). The closest boat launch is at Sandhurst Resort. Renting a motor boat is available at the marina in Katrine, just a short 20 minute drive away. There is so much to do in this area and the cottage is located minutes from three Algonquin Park access points (Tim Lake, Magnetawan Lake, and Rain Lake). Fishing, hiking and swimming are just a few of the fun activities to be had at the cottage.

This cottage features a nice fire pit, where memories can be made with roasting of marshmallows, sunsets and much more. Firewood is provided.

Sand Castle Cottage is the cottage where family memories are made. This will become an annual vacation that every family member will look forward to.
