Bearwoode Lodge is the perfect fit for large groups looking for a space that has it all! With a beautiful and easily accessible waterfront, large screened in Muskoka room, open and inviting dining and living areas, spacious kitchen, as well as an added den and kitchenette on the lower level this space makes living easy and cottaging fun!
Bearwoode Lodge is located on Grandview Lake near the small town of Baysville. This area is a true cottagers' gem, featuring a number of bakeries, restaurants, antique shops and more.
The cottage itself is a three storey, wood structured, true Muskoka cottage. On the top floor is an open bedroom that looks down onto the dining room area, this bedroom contains a 4-piece ensuite bathroom and to the far side a double bed, perfect for parents with young children who want to be in the same space. The main floor is large and spacious.
The fully-equipped kitchen, dining room and lounging area is all open-concept, with the staircase leading to the upper bedroom situated in the middle of the room. The large dining room table seats twelve comfortably and off to the side is a couch and chair for extra seating. The living room is to the side of this large space and it offers another area for families to relax and spend quality time together.
There is comfortable seating for eight in this room equipped with a television, VCR, DVD and satellite. Under the stairs in the living room is a powder room with a toilet and sink. This second set of stairs goes up to another bedroom containing two single beds and a pack n' play can be made available for those vacationers with very young children. A door through the kitchen and dining room area opens into the Muskoka room. This large 40 X 8 foot screened room faces the waterfront, and is the perfect space for lounging and enjoying a morning coffee or evening beverage. This room seats just over ten people comfortably.
The lower level at Bearwoode Lodge has one large bedroom with two double beds. A washroom with a stand-up shower is located at the bottom of the stairs. The second living area is on this level and contains two couches and a second television including VHS, DVD and Satellite TV. There is a kitchenette to the left containing a full-size fridge, water cooler and bar area. This downstairs space is ideal for extended family looking for togetherness yet privacy. It also makes for a perfect hang out space for all of the kids!
Through the lower level walkout you will find a barbecue, outdoor furniture and a large wooden picnic style table, perfect for outdoor meals with the family! Closer to the waterfront is a fire pit with supplied wood for night time fires.
Bearwoode Lodge has a flat, very gradual sloped grassy yard, making it the perfect area to set up games and activities for the whole family. There is 100-feet of water frontage; most of this is made up of grass and then turns into hard sandy bottom for a gradual, shallow entry. There is a smaller dock off to the side with a three-foot depth.
Visitors to Bearwoode Lodge can make use of the two canoes and one rowboat provided. Small fishing boats are welcome at this cottage; however, because Grandview Lake is a very clean lake, it is also a small and peaceful lake, and therefore larger boats are not permitted. Visitors also have access to the internet, though it can be slow at times. Bearwoode Lodge is sure to please everyone with all it has to offer. A great place to make memories, share laughs, cozy up by the fire while roasting marshmallows, enjoy refreshing swims in the lake or just simply relax in the Muskoka Room with a great book. It's the perfect spot to spend that much needed vacation.
