Our charming, quaint 1800s rustic log Montana Cabin near Hocking Hills filled with lots of character. The Montana Cabin is located deep in the woods on 40 private acres of forest and sits adjacent to 1000+ acres of Wayne National Forest. If you are looking for a secluded, quiet getaway – you will find that at our Montana Cabin. Here, you will be surrounded by nothing, but wildlife and the outdoors. The space
Guests will follow long gravel driveway until they find themselves in the middle of the forest where they are welcomed to a beautiful, rustic 1800s log cabin with a wrap around porch. Upon entering the Montana Cabin, guests will feel an instant sense of charm, comfort, and peace. The Montana Cabin was completely restored using reclaimed barn doors and patchwork quilt hard wood flooring that came from old churches, schoolhouses, and other older homes in the area. The hickory kitchen cabinets are filled with all the amenities needed for our guests to enjoy a scrumptious, home-cooked meal. There is a wood burning pot bellied stove that guests can use to warm up with during winter months while snuggling on the couch.

Follow the wooden staircase to the cozy lofted area with two Queen-sized beds where the floors and A-frame ceiling are covered in the beautiful, restored hardwood flooring. The wrap around porch is pure bliss. Step outside each morning for a morning coffee before the birds start chirping to hear the unearthly quietness of the forest. Throughout the day, explore the unknown at the nearby State Parks. Come back to enjoy some flamed grilled food. There is a small firepit around back where our guests can enjoy time underneath stars around a crackling, warm flame. To end each evening, guests can relax and unwind in the circular Jacuzzi that is tucked away on the corner of the wrap around porch.

One of the best characteristics about the Montana Cabin is that it is filled with traditions. There have been countless anniversaries, honeymoons, and proposals that have taken place within these walls. Our guests started signing a quilt that we drape over a chair in the upstairs loft. If you are lucky you may even find some money or small trinkets hidden within the walls. The idea behind this is to find something hidden within the wall, re-hide it, and leave a clue for the next guest. The Montana Cabin is a unique and just what you need to start new traditions.

Beyond the property, the cabin is centrally located, allowing you to easily access the best attractions in Southeast Ohio. You’ll find yourself just minutes away from Hocking Hills' iconic spots like Old Man’s Cave, Cedar Falls, and Ash Cave, as well as Ohio University in Athens and several beautiful state lakes. Whether you're seeking outdoor adventures or exploring the charming towns of Athens, Logan, and Nelsonville, our lodge provides the perfect base for your adventures.

The Montana Cabin is located deep in the woods on 40 private acres that sits adjacent to 1000+ acres of Wayne National Forest. This is a peaceful, secluded setting overlooking a ravine with plenty of wildlife and nature to keep you company. Guests are more than welcome to explore the forest that surrounds the cabin.

Other things to note
Our rates are based on a minimum occupancy of 2 guests. Children 5 and younger stay for free. 2 Night minimum for Weekend stays – Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Holiday rates apply for Memorial Day Weekend, 4th of July, Labor Day Weekend, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s. The taxes associated with the rental are 13.25%. We have both 7.25% sales tax and 6% lodging tax.

We allow up to 2 dogs at our cabins. However, we require a non-refundable $50 pet fee/pet.
