Welcome to this wonderful 2,700 sq. ft., 3 level, 5 bedroom cottage, nestled on 5 acres of well-treed land, perched above the beautiful shores of Sucker Lake!

The owner had spent every summer of her life in Muskoka at a family cottage in Windermere, filled with an abundance of fond memories. When the cottage was sold, the owner and her husband wanted to continue having the same opportunities for their kids and grandkids so they found and purchased their own cottage on a quieter lake but still in Muskoka. To add to the dream, they had always wanted a log home, so it was recently transformed into the splendour that it is today. 

Warm and spacious, the main level open concept kitchen/dining/living room draws you into its comfort the moment you walk in. With soaring cathedral ceilings, pine walls and hardwood floors, large picture windows/sliding glass doors with tree-top views out to the lake and a striking floor to ceiling stone wood-burning fireplace, this inviting living space will become the favourite family gathering spot any time of the day. From the dining/living room there are direct walk-outs to the expansive deck and the large screened-in Muskoka room, the owner's favourite spot to relax in. The beauty of having a screened-in Muskoka room at a cottage is that you can settle in with a book or play a boardgame on inclement days and still enjoy the amazing beauty that surrounds you, feeling one with nature.  

The bedrooms are well laid out with 3 on the upper level and 2 on the lower level. The upper level has 2 bedrooms with 2 single beds and a generously-sized master bedroom, an oasis unto itself, with a king-sized bed, 3-piece ensuite bathroom, a cozy sitting area and a direct walk-out to a private deck. The 2 lower level bedrooms also have direct walk-outs to covered decks, allowing the early birds to head down to the lake without disturbing anyone upstairs.

The great outdoors will fill your days with all that the property has to offer. With the 3 bedroom decks and main deck, enjoy your morning coffees privately or socially. The owner's love the tranquility on the decks, listening to the whisper of the breeze in the trees and the magical call of the loons. 

Head down to the 200 ft.+ of water frontage and enjoy endless hours relaxing on the new large dock. There is shallow entry at the shoreline, great for young and old alike, and for the older kids, the water at the end of the dock is over 9 ft. deep, great for jumping into the clean, clear water to cool off. The owner's kids and grandkids always get a blast cliff jumping (safely!) from the rock face on the other side of the lake. For more peaceful adventures there are 2 kayaks and a tandem kayak to get out on the water with and explore the lake, and for avid anglers, the lake is home to smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, trout, perch and sunfish.

Even with so much to do at the property, the location of the cottage has always been a plus for the owners, not only is there the serenity of the lake, but it is also close to so many attractions. Be sure to take a short drive into Rosseau where a lively Farmer's Market takes place every Friday in the summertime, and be sure to pop by The Rosseau General Store, an old-fashioned shop full of charm and character where you can find just about anything you could possibly want and dine at Crossroads where delicious fine dining meets casual friendly service. Aspen Valley is amazing in their efforts to rehabilitate hundreds of wild animals and birds each year and educate people of Canadian wildlife, hosting tours.There are also fabulous shops nearby in Port Carling, Bracebridge and Hunstsville as well as Bala's Cranberry Festival. Golfers in the family can enjoy nearby courses in Bracebridge and Windermere.

However you spend your days, always end them with a BBQ dinner on the deck, roasting s'mores for dessert at the lakeside fire pit while watching the sky fill with a spectacular blanket of stars. So much to do, so little time...so what are you waiting for?
