River Cottage - Polruan

Delightful character cottage nestling at the front of the idyllic fishing village of Polruan overlooking the estuary which provides the perfect romantic retreat.

Perfectly situated overlooking the River Fowey just a stone’s throw from the quayside, beach, pubs and village amenities. For a lovely day out hop on the passenger ferry to Fowey and enjoy the independent shops and restaurants on offer or step out onto the beautiful Hall Walk to Bodinnick passing Riverside, Daphne Du Maurier’s home or follow the South West Coast Path to Lantic Bay or Lansallos Beach. Further afield there are plenty of places to visit and things to do, why not visit the tall ships at Charlestown, take the brewery tour in St Austell or visit the Eden project and/or the Lost Gardens of Heligan. Also, for those interested in stately homes why not visit Lanhydrock in Bodmin.

Step inside from the delightful chimney pot terraced street and hang up your outer-wear. Head into the beautifully furnished lounge with Danish-style armchairs and a comfortable sofa. Relax in front of the wood-burner after a day exploring and watch your favourite film on the Smart TV. Unwind and read a book or play one of many board games. Two steps lead into the stunning kitchen diner with a gorgeous dining table and bespoke bench seating. The kitchen area has everything you need with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with ice compartment and slimline dishwasher. Two steps up lead to the utility area with a washing machine and a rear door for access. Heading upstairs, the wonderfully cosy king-size bedroom is incredibly spacious with a window to watch the ever-changing river towards Fowey. From the landing, you’ll find the bathroom with a shower over bath and WC so enjoy an evening soak after a long day exploring the endless walks from your doorstep. 

There are many small winding streets in and around the village, that are not suitable for cars, therefore many properties in Polruan do not have private parking. However, there is a large pay and display car park at the top of the village.
