PRIVATE BEACHFRONT ESTATE WITH POOL ON MILES-LONG PINK-SAND BEACH

Enter Brambles House into the vast great room with a wall of glass looking out upon the turquoise water and pink sand of Double Bay Beach. Brambles has some of the best beach and ocean views you will find on the island. The great room includes a spacious ocean-view living area furnished with a contemporary sectional and flat screen TV. The dining area, which also enjoys ocean views through the wall of glass, seats 6 at the table, with additional seating at the adjacent kitchen island.

Brambles’ great room also features the world best office, with a desk looking out over the beach and ocean. You may not get much work done, but you’ll enjoy trying.

The large island kitchen, also designed to share the ocean views, is fully equipped and features a glass topped range, dishwasher, microwave, and French-door refrigerator. AN ALL-NEW LUXURY KITCHEN WAS COMPLETED IN LATE 2019.

The luxurious master suite is located at the southern end of the house and enjoys the same beach and ocean views through a wall of glass that opens onto a beachfront veranda. It is furnished with a king bed. The master's en-suite bath features double sinks and an oversized jacuzzi tub.

At the opposite end of the house are the two guest suites. The oceanfront guest suite has the same wall of glass as the master, and opens onto its own oceanfront veranda. It is furnished with a queen bed and a sofa. The second guest suite has a garden view and is furnished with a queen bed. These two bedrooms share a bathroom with double sinks and a combination shower/tub.

Outside, an ocean-front veranda runs the full length of the rear of the house. It is furnished for lounging and dining and includes roofed and shaded areas as well as open areas for sunning. The side veranda is equipped with a gas grill for outdoor grilling.

Step off the veranda, past the outdoor shower, and a few more steps takes you onto Double Bay Beach, a two-mile stretch of pink sand that is usually deserted. The water is a glorious shade of turquoise. A barrier reef keeps the surf modest. There is snorkeling offshore. Walk for miles on this spectacular beach, which you will typically have to yourself.

On the other side of the house, protected from the sea, is our beautiful and completely private heated pool, with areas for sunning and shaded areas as well. An optional pool heat fee of $350 per week applies if you would like the pool heated.

Amenities at Brambles include air conditioning throughout, WIFI, two TVs with DVD and Apple TV (but no cable or satellite), washer/dryer, gas grill, inflatable kayak and a back up generator.

There is a new grocery store called Mid Way just 5 minutes away, which has the basics. The town of Governors Harbour, 15 minutes by car from the property, has grocery stores, restaurants, liquor stores, two banks with ATMs, a bakery, gift shops, a dive shop, and a medical clinic. It has a nice little collection of 19th century homes and churches overlooking a picturesque harbor. The town of Palmetto Point, less than 10 minutes from the house, has several smaller stores and a good restaurant.

Upscale restaurants in the area include Pascal’s at Sky Beach Club (International cuisine with Bahamian influences), Tippy’s (international and fusion), The Buccaneer (Bahamian cuisine with Caribbean-Chinese fusion), La Bougainvillea (international cuisine), 1648 Restaurant (Bahamian cuisine inspired by European influences), and Bacchus Fine Foods (gourmet restaurant and food store). The above all have live music one or more nights a week, so there is live entertainment somewhere nearby almost every night. The Governors Harbour area also has numerous little takeouts and restaurants offering local cuisine, including Da Perk (coffee shop and sandwiches), Mate and Jenny’s (pizza and Bahamian), and the Sunset Inn (local cuisine). The new and excellent restaurant Fishbone Grill is now open, just a short drive.
