About this space

A magical private garden surrounds a tiny studio (240 sq ft), with designer kitchenette, tucked in a quiet historic residential district, 10 blocks to the East Village and Petco BallPark, 15 blocks to the Gaslamp Quarter and one mile to the Convention Center. Easy access to all freeways, very close to Balboa Park, San Diego Zoo, and Coronado Island. Airport and train station less than 15 min. A sweet & contemplative respite near the city, with WiFi but no TV. One pet OK only with prior approval.

The space
Pan's Garden Studio is thoughtfully organized, a tiny home away from home. Completely remodeled in 2016, the Studio is tucked at the back of the private garden of our 115-year-old house. A private security gate to the north of our house leads you into Pan's Garden, where a quiet, zen-like atmosphere pervades. No smoking in the Studio, but Pan's Garden offers several shaded and private outdoor seating areas with ashtrays available. One small pet is welcome, but only with prior approval. Do not use the instant book feature if you are planning to travel with your pet. An additional pet cleaning surcharge of $50 will be added, with a $25 refund if there is no damage.
There's plenty of light in the Studio: the 240-square feet studio features 5 windows and there are two high-intensity reading lights by the bed. The queen-sized bed has a Novaform Memory Foam Mattress, one of Consumer Reports' best picks. An open closet offers storage and clothes rack. The bed frame features four oversize drawers, each of which will fit carry-on luggage. The bathroom is sparkling clean and the towels are thick and soft. The kitchenette features a sink, a small refrigerator with a freezer section, microwave oven, tea and coffeemaker, and kitchen plates, glasses, bowls, and utensils, but there is no stove or oven. The table can be expanded to seat four people, and also serves as a desk. Free WiFi is available both in the Studio and in the Garden. We also offer a Graco Pack & Play for infants.

Guest access
Free parking on the street, all around the block. Guests enter through a private garden gate, with a lockbox entry if we are not home to greet guests. The garden offers several secluded seating areas for reading and conversation, and outdoor tables for al fresco dining. Ashtrays are available for smoking.

Other things to note
One small pet is welcome, but only with prior approval. Do not use the instant book feature if you are planning to travel with your pet. An additional pet cleaning surcharge of $50 will be added, with a $25 refund if there is no damage. The Studio sleeps only 1-2 people on the bed. A futon for a third person is a possibility for an extra $50 per person per night charge.
