Welcome to The Star of the West! If you are looking for a special place for your larger party with breathtaking views of the ocean and close to downtown Folly, you just found it! The Star Of The West is a great gathering house for larger families and has the option to be used as an Event House to host your wedding or special event for up to 49 people. (*Event Fee applies, see more details below)

This 8 bedroom oceanfront home offers a unique layout that can accommodate you and 23 of your family and friends in comfortable surroundings. As you enter the home, ocean views immediately greet you through large, floor to ceiling windows that line the entire oceanfront side of the home, flooding natural light into the living room and kitchen areas. This home has a total of 9 flat-screen TV's, 2 in the living areas and 7 in the bedrooms. The laundry area is found down the hallway, just off of the kitchen. Step out onto the oceanfront, full-length, covered porch from the living room or kitchen areas. Sit back in one of the numerous rocking chairs for everyone to rock the day away.

The first floor living room area boasts a 65” flat screen TV for movie night or watching the big game, 2 new sleeper sofas, beverage set up area, and an extra refrigerator. This area opens to an equally large, newly remodeled, fully stocked kitchen with new stainless appliances, 6 burner gas stove, large island with sink and a 13-foot heart pine table that provides plenty of seating for big family meals, and another flat screen TV. No matter if you are kicking your feet up or working hard to cook that large family meal, you'll enjoy the ocean views as soon as you look out the windows straight ahead of you.

The first level is rounded out with 5 Bedrooms. Down the hallway from the living room, the King master bedroom has access to the street side deck and a private, full bathroom. On this same side of the home, there is a Queen bedroom with an attached, full bathroom (shower only). On the other side of the house, off of the kitchen, there is a full bathroom found in the hallway, across from two Queen guest bedrooms. The 4th Queen bedroom, at the end of this hallway, has an attached, full bathroom, also with access to the street side deck.

Upstairs, the second level has 3 additional bedrooms. The middle bedroom is a King suite with a private bath. There is a Queen bedroom on the street side, and an oceanfront "kids room" with 2 Queen beds and 2 Twin beds. There is a full bathroom attached to the Queen bedroom and a second full bathroom attached to the "kids room".

There is oceanfront outside seating on both levels of the house. On the downstairs, covered porch, you will find a line of rocking chairs and a swing to relax in, read a book, or watch the sunrise. The upper level deck offers plenty of space and sun for lounging and working on your tan. On the street side of the house, 2 bedrooms offer access to another, more private open deck. This traditional Folly home has plenty of parking underneath the home and in the driveway, outside showers, and direct beach access down the private boardwalk.

The Star Of The West is just a short, 4.5 block walk to Center Street, the downtown area of Folly Beach, where you will find all the local beach store shopping and restaurants you need. This home is exactly what you expect, cozy furnishing, tasteful décor and views of the Atlantic Ocean that won't find anywhere else on Folly. Historical, downtown Charleston is only a short, 20-25 minute drive away for all of the culture, history, high end shopping, restaurants, and charm that the Holy City has to offer.


*The Event Capacity is 49 people and the Event Fee of $1,100 would need to be applied on top of the overall reservation cost for your stay. Events include weddings, receptions, reunions, birthdays,...any large gathering held at the home. Must submit event details and plans to the management company. City of Folly Beach event permit must also be submitted to the City. This can be done online through the City of Folly Beach website and is free of charge.

The Star Of The West is non-smoking and Not pet-friendly. Must be 25 years old or older to rent. Please note that this home books exactly one year in advance, and the first right of refusal for the following year goes to the guest that booked/stayed in the property during the same time frame this current year.
