"AT LONG LAST"
Welcome to this gorgeous 1,700 sq.ft., 2 level, 3 bedroom plus den cottage perched above the beautiful shores of Long Lake! The owners fell in love with the property as it had easy access off of the cottage country highway, yet provided tranquil privacy on .75 acres of well-treed land.
The owners grew up in Muskoka and had many fond memories of spending time over the years at their childhood cottage. Now as adults, they longed to own their own cottage to enjoy with their family and friends. But having a history in this amazingly picturesque part of well-renowned Ontario cottage country, made the search a challenging one as their needs and wants were quite specific. Finally they found their little piece of paradise and fondly named it "At Long Last"!
As you step into the cottage, past the entrance foyer, you will immediately be captivated by the spectacular view of the lake framed in the large picture windows in the dining room. As this area extends out past the other rooms on this main level, it feels like you are virtually on top of the lake. There is an easy flow from here, past the sitting area with a stunning stone floor to ceiling propane fireplace, to the open concept kitchen/living room. The kitchen is a chef's delight with a gas stove, stainless steel appliances, apron sink, a kitchen island and plenty of countertop space for prepping meals. One step down takes you to the living room with great views of your natural surroundings from a wall of large picture windows and a direct walk-out through sliding glass doors to an expansive deck overlooking the lake. Needless to say, this will become a favourite spot for the entire family to spread out and relax and enjoy BBQ meals.
There are 2 bedrooms on the main level, with the lakeside master bedroom having its own 3-piece ensuite and the lower level has a den with a murphy bed, converted to sleeping quarters for two with great lake views and a shared bedroom door for privacy, and a spacious 3rd bedroom with a direct walk-out to a small screened in Muskoka room and stairs down to the waterfront.
The 160 feet of waterfront is flat and grassy with a lakeside fire pit and lakeside deck and large dock. There is a small section for easy access into shallow water with hard packed sand and the end of the dock provides deep water entry. With a paddleboat, 2 paddle boards and 3 kayaks, the whole family can get out together at the same time to explore the lake.
If you can tear yourself away from the cottage, you are so close to so many great Muskoka attractions. Bala is just a 3 minute drive away where you’ll find Johnston’s Cranberry Marsh and Muskoka Lakes Winery and in the opposite direction from the cottage, Clear Lake Brewery and Muskoka Beer Spa are a 2 minute drive away. For the younger ones, Santa’s Village is a 35 minute drive away to Bracebridge and for Muskoka steam ship cruises from the Gravenhurst wharf it is just a 15 minute drive from the cottage. So much to do, so little time, so what are you waiting for?!
