Welcome to this gorgeous 1000 sq. ft., 2 bedroom cottage and 500 sq. ft., 2 bedroom bunkie, ideally located on Paint Lake, just minutes from the charming village of Dorset, right in the heart of Muskoka! Both are exquisitely and tastefully decorated, creating a cozy and inviting vacation getaway for a large family or 2 small families.
The moment you step into the main cottage's open concept kitchen/dining/living room, you will feel the chaos of city life slip away as you take in the serene lake views from the wall of floor to ceiling windows. The kitchen will be a joy to prepare meals in with modern stainless steel appliances, a kitchen island and plenty of counter space. While dining at the beautiful harvest table, you will feel as if you are right on top of the water due to the cottage's close proximity to the lake, then enjoy your after dinner drinks on the sofa or watch late night movies with the lake as your picturesque backdrop.
The 2 beautifully appointed bedrooms are tucked into the back of the cottage, catering to a great night's sleep, with a 4-piece bathroom in between the bedrooms and the main living area.
The bunkie is a stone's throw away from the cottage and is perfect for a couple, grandparents or the teens in the family, as it is completely self-sufficient with a compact open concept kitchen/dining/living area, 2 bedrooms and a 3-piece bathroom.
The cottage property is great for young and old alike, with a flat open lawn in front of the bunkie for tossing around a ball or frisbee, and a gentle slope down to the dock, lake and 100 feet of natural shoreline with a hardpacked sandy entrance, the best spot for the young ones to safely splash and play. With a kayak, canoe, paddleboat, stand-up paddle board and rowboat at your disposal, be sure to get out onto the water and explore the lake and for avid anglers, the fishing is very good for largemouth and smallmouth bass and northern pike.
For a change of pace, take a short drive into the charming village of Dorset with a wonderful waterfront restaurant, café, ice cream parlour and local shops including the famous Robinson's General Store, once voted "Canada's Best Country Store". The Dorset scenic outlook is also definitely worth checking out. For the fitness buffs, hike the trail to the top of Bear Mountain for incredible vistas or climb the famous Dorset Lookout Tower which stands at 465 feet and gives you 360 degree views of Lake of Bays. For longer day trips, venture out to popular Algonquin Park or Limberlost Forest and Wildlife Reserve for more hiking adventures.
