What a fantastic gem of a property this is! Rare is it to find 250 ft. of private sandy beach, at a lakeside cottage in northern Ontario. This wonderful, newly renovated cottage is tucked into a cove on the shores of Kamaniskeg Lake, near the popular cottage country town of Barry's Bay in scenic Madawaska Valley.

The cottage has been home to 5 generations. Since 1946 they have enjoyed the beautiful relaxing calm waters, hours of sand play at the water’s edge, water sporting and so much more and now their haven can be yours to enjoy and create your own fond family memories.

The interior of the cottage maintains its historic flavour and has been thoughtfully renovated to combine the old with the new. As you enter through either the front or side entrance, a wall of floor to ceiling picture windows greet you with a soothing panoramic lake vista. The spacious open concept living/dining/kitchen area all face out to the lake with cathedral ceilings, beautiful pine wood floors (made from the property’s own trees) and tastefully appointed furnishings, all lending to a sense of peacefulness and tranquility.

Three beautifully decorated bedrooms are on the main level just off of the main living area and the master bedroom takes up the entire loft space with an office area and its own ensuite bathroom. What an incredible spot to wake up or fall asleep in, with its sweeping views of the lake.

Needless to say, the great outdoors awaits you on your own private beach. With a shallow entry and gradual walk out for over a hundred feet, young and old will feel very safe playing and splashing in the water for hours on end! Explore the lake with the use of the paddleboat that is at your disposal. Kamaniskeg Lake has very little boat traffic and is great for swimming, fishing (bass/trout/pike), paddling, water sports and pleasure crafting. There is approximately 90 km. of shoreline and a river system that allows portage access to other lakes. For the even more adventurous you are minutes away from the Madawaska River with white water rafting!

If you can tear yourself away from this oasis, head out on a cloudy day and take a short trip into town and treat yourself to Kawartha Dairy ice cream cones and visit the local artisan shops. There is also a quiet park and children’s playground, tennis courts and a public beach just a 5 minute drive from the cottage. For longer day trips, explore Canada’s first Polish settlement, Wilno, just a 20 minute drive away, or head to fantastic Algonquin Park to enjoy its sheer natural beauty while hiking or boating surrounded by an abundance of wildlife.

But after any day, it will be a must to settle back into the property, have a BBQ dinner and dine under the covered gazebo and then gather around the fire pit roasting marshmallows. Because if your day wasn’t fantastic enough, get ready for the absolutely breathe taking sunsets whose beauty linger on long after the sun has disappeared on the horizon. Honestly, it just doesn’t get any better!
