Welcome to "The Perfect Getaway on The Trent River"

This lovely 840 sq. ft., 3 bedroom cottage is nestled on 1/3 of an acre of well-treed land on the peaceful shores of the Trent River, part of the Trent-Severn Waterway in southeast Ontario's popular cottage country! Having grown up with many fond memories as children in this area, the owners recently purchased this cottage to create and share more fond memories with their family and friends.

The interior of the cottage is warm and cozy and well laid out, with the open concept kitchen/dining/living room along the front of the cottage and the 3 bedrooms a few steps up from this main family gathering space. Recently renovated, cottage charm is everywhere, with shiplap walls, cathedral ceilings, barn doors, and a river-facing wall of large picture windows providing natural light and gentle breezes on warm sunny days.

Enjoy your morning coffee on the long front deck, expanding the length of the cottage, or on the large lounge deck to the side of the cottage, while taking in the tranquil tree-top views of the river. A set of stairs takes you down to the 100 feet of natural shoreline, a combination of rocks and then sand, with shallow entry into the water and a great flat lawn, ideal for both young and old alike, complete with a children's playset. The river is 90 kilometers long, so rent or bring a boat and spend your days cruising for hours on end, and for avid anglers fishing is great with a variety of fish to be caught such as smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, pike, crappie and walleye. With a canoe and rowboat at your disposal, you can stay close by and still enjoy paddling and fishing. For short day trips, the cottage is tucked between a few small towns that are very welcoming and have great local food and drinks. If you happen to be visiting over Canada Day, nearby Hastings, although a relatively small community, has been attracting an increasing number of spectators to its firework display at the waterfront as it has recently been considered as one of the best in Ontario cottage country.

End your days with a BBQ dinner on the lounge deck and for dessert gather round the waterfront fire pit, roasting marshmallows, while taking in the wonderful sunsets. Life is good!
