Windermere Island Beach House with Club Membership, Pool, Tennis

Savannah House is located on exclusive Windermere Island, a private gated island connected to Eleuthera by bridge. Savannah has a short private path to five miles of deserted pink sand beach. Savannah House is a short walk from the Windermere Club and comes with membership in the Club. The Windermere club, which has a heated pool, tennis courts, a TV room/library, small gym and (in season) an excellent restaurant and bar.

The grand entry of Savannah leads into a large and sunny dining room. To the right stands the master bedroom and to the left, the bunk bed room. Beyond, the large high-ceilinged living room is soft and cool with bold sculptural paintings dominating the walls. Another guest room is off to one side, and the renovated kitchen to the other. The 4th bedroom is in a separate guest cottage right beside the main house. The guest cottage is optional for an extra charge of $700 per week. If you don't need it, it will be locked off and left empty. It will not be rented to anyone else.

All bedrooms are air-conditioned with en-suite bathrooms. Savannah has two king bedrooms, one bedroom with twin beds, and one bedroom with four bunk beds.

Amenities include air conditioning in all bedrooms, living room, and kitchen, high-speed internet/WIFI, TV with DVD (but no cable), and outdoor gas grill. Savannah has a shady cabana on the beach with beach chairs. The house is equipped with snorkel gear. Daily housekeeping is included.

Stunning location:

Savannah is a short walk from the sea and beach from atop its private knoll. Its storm-safe concrete-block walls are coated with plaster mixed with honey-coloured lime stone dust from a local quarry and textured with seashells. A light raft-like walking deck surrounds the house.

Windermere Island:

Windermere Island, long a favorite of the British royal family, is a gated private island five miles long with a beautiful pink-sand beach running along much of the Atlantic side. A private club with a pool, a small gym, tennis courts, TV room/library and bar/dining room is maintained for members and guests.

There is another excellent new oceanfront restaurant in Savannah Sound, five minutes away by car, called Fishbone Beach Bar and Grill, which is open year-round. The nearest grocery store is the Midway Cost Cutters located in Savannah Sound.

Eleuthera:

Eleuthera is famous for its 100 miles of spectacular, deserted beaches. The island, home to just 8000 residents, is completely safe any time of the day or night. Enjoy the rare experience of picking up hitch-hikers and leaving your keys in the car wherever you go. The snorkeling, diving, and fishing on the island are world class. Boating, surfing, and other water sports are also popular. You can rent power boats, sailboats, sea kayaks, bikes. You can have a charter captain take you out for excursions of various types. There is excellent sightseeing as well. Eleuthera has vast caves, cliffs, a bottomless ocean hole, many unique beaches, historic churches and 19th century homes, and small villages to explore.
