Beach House with Pool and Tennis on Private Windermere Island

From the patio of Hamilton House, you can enjoy unblocked views of the Atlantic sea. At low tide 100 meters from the shore, you can see a coral reef.

Originally built by, and until recently owned by the Duke and Duchess of Abercorn, Hamilton House has played host to members of the British Royal Family including HRH Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, who regularly stayed here as a guest.

This beautiful holiday home has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, sleeping a total of 8 people. There are two private patios off the bedrooms facing the Atlantic sea. One bedroom has a queen bed, two bedrooms have twin beds (which can be converted to kings), and the fourth bedroom has a single bed. There is also a rollaway bed which can be placed in any of the rooms. The queen bedroom and the two twin bedrooms have en suite baths. There is also a new playpen.

The large 45 feet long living area is an ideal space for family gatherings and meals, making it the ideal villa to rent in the Bahamas. You can walk each morning along the most beautiful 5-mile beach in the Bahamas without seeing another soul. Good sport fishing such as bone fishing, with Eleuthera being well known for it's bonefish, as well as reef fishing, can be had on the Atlantic side or on the Caribbean side at West Beach 5 minutes drive. Excellent surf fishing on the beach in front of the house can be had for jacks, barracuda, and much more.

Hamilton House shares a lovely ocean-view pool (close to the house but not visible from the house) with several adjacent homes. These houses are rarely used by their owners, and are not available for rent, so you can expect to have this pool entirely to yourself. In the 5 years we have owned this house, we have only once seen anyone else in the pool.

Guests at Hamilton House also have Club Privileges and access to The Club at Windermere, with a restaurant, bar, TV/library room, heated pool, small gym and tennis courts. The Club is just a 2 minute walk from Hamilton House, so you will use it often. The restaurant and bar are open from mid November to early May. The heated pool, small gym, TV/library and tennis courts are open year-round.

There is another excellent new oceanfront restaurant in Savannah Sound, five minutes away by car, called Fishbone Beach Bar and Grill, which is open year-round. There’s also a grocery store, Midway Cost Cutters, in Savannah Sound.

Amenities at Hamilton House include AC, wifi, satellite TV, dvd player, ipod dock, charcoal grill, double kayak, sailboat, 5 bikes, kids beach toys, board games, boogie boards and basic snorkel gear. Hamilton House comes with daily housekeeping every day except Sundays and holidays.

Windermere Island is a private island attached by a short, security-manned bridge to the mainland.
