Striking artwork and hand-picked furniture create interest in the rooms and contribute to the calming atmosphere. After returning from a day at the beach, enjoy a long shower to wash off the sand and sun cream in the slate-style shower room with unique design elements including low-level spot lights and shapely feature sink.

The charming seaside town of Bude is 1.5 miles away and boasts a fantastic collection of shops and cafes, as well as glorious beaches, tidal swimming pool and pretty quayside along the canal. Surfers can choose between Summerleaze Beach, which is next to the town, or Widemouth (6 miles down the coast) which both offer great waves for beginners and experienced surfers alike. Crooklets, to the north, is good for seasoned surfers. From Poughill you can head 16 miles north to the pretty village of Clovelly, with its cobbled street and jumble of quaint houses, shops and pub on the scenic harbourside. Travel 25 miles north to Bideford, Appledore or Westward Ho! - a town, pretty fishing village and a seaside resort respectively.
