Somtara a wonderful home situated in Madeline Island

Somtara is a wonderful home situated on one of the island's best lakeshore parcels. It is considered by many repeat island visitors as one of the nicest places to stay on the island. 

From the outside and from pictures only, Somtara looks like any ordinary ranch style home, but step inside and you see what makes this home so very special: you get a truly Superior experience the entire length of the home. No matter what the weather is like outside, you’ll enjoy the views and sounds of Superior from the comfort and warmth of Somtara.  Somtara has been well received and we are confident you will not be disappointed.  But don’t delay; book early.  There’s only one Somtara, which means only twelve or so summer rentals. Somtara is a well-maintained, clean, one level, two bedroom, two bath, year-round home on a beautiful and peaceful Chippewa Trail lot.  It offers great lake views and lake sounds.  The yard is large and pleasant. Shore access is easy and close: Somtara is on the lake, not across the road as are many properties. There’s a large, long deck out front overlooking the lake and a screened porch off the master bedroom. There is a queen bed in the master bedroom, two twins in the guest bedroom, and a sofa sleeper in the family room.  There is a fireplace in the living room, a wood stove in the family room, and a fire-pit on the shoreline patio - a guest favorite.

The kitchen is all new for 2015 summer rentals; new floor, new cabinets, new lighting, and all new appliances. The range has a gas cook-top and electric double ovens. The microwave is also a convection oven and the dishwasher and refrigerator freezer are new as well; all stainless steel. The view from the sink remains spectacular.

A charcoal grill is out front. The family room has two large picture windows in a corner offering great views of woods and lake. There’s a small flat-panel TV with cable service, a combination DVD / VCR player, and stereo in the family room.  There are large picture windows in the dining area and the living room also.  From throughout the front of the house, in the family room,  in the kitchen, in the dining area, in the living room, and on the deck, or in the screened porch, the views and sounds of Lake Superior are wonderful.
