Part of the Agriano wine estate(producers of Brunello), this beautiful farmhouse is situated 12 km from Montalcino, in the heart of the production area of the prestigious wine of the same name in the vicinity of the castle of Argiano. With its climber-cloaked walls, terracotta roof tiles and traditional horseshoe shape, this very special villa was built in the 1700s as a manor to neighbouring Argiano Castle. Now gazing out to gardens perfumed with roses and lavender, it has been thoughtfully restored to blend the simplicity of the rural Tuscan lifestyle with the beauty of exotic furnishings, which reflect the owner’s love of travel. So all the ground floor rooms have access to an enclosed courtyard, where a rustic pergola makes a shady dining area, and guests can enjoy seasonal produce from the vegetable garden.

Within the house, high vaulted ceilings and grand arches frame elegantly styled living and dining rooms; timber beamed bedrooms, each very individual, include a barley-twist four poster bed; a study and TV room complement the social space; and the house has two kitchens and offers cook service. The couple who act as caretakers and also deal with the daily cleaning, live in an external apartment and on request are also willing to prepare breakfast or other meals and take care of the laundry. The main kitchen is superbly equipped with ovens, microwave, fridges and barbecue, also perfect for cookery courses. The laundry is provided with washing machine and dryer. All the bedrooms are equipped with ceiling fans. Other amenities of the villa include an internet connection, satellite TV and stereo with CD player. The town of Montalcino is by now famous the world over for its magnificent wine, its architectural attractions and fine food. Also within easy reach are sites of cultural interest such as Pienza (24 km), the characteristic spa of Bagni San Filippo (35 km), Montepulciano (24 km), and Siena (50 km). Just 60 km away is the sea of the Etruscan coast, with the resort of Castiglione della Pescaia just one hour’s drive away.

Only a short walk to Fontanella, and a very short drive to Lavacchia, two other villas on our site. Might be good for a large group who wants to be near, but still have some privacy from one another.
