Villa Vorno

An enchanting, beautifully restored and fully staffed 12 bedroom historic Tuscan retreat.

 

Surrounded by hills filled with wild boar, villa Vorno was once the hunting lodge retreat of Count Cosimo Bernardini of Lucca who would spend his weekends in the country. The Bernardini family played an instrumental role in the administration and politics of the Republic of Lucca and were responsible for the upkeep of law (magistrates) and order from 1388 through to 1798. They continued to support the new political order with the invasion of Napoleon towards the end of the 18th century. At this time, the property was extended to become a small village for the workers of the estate which included an olive press, bakers and chapel.

12 individually styled double bedrooms (4 of which can be either queen or twin) with en-suite bathrooms (4 with Jacuzzi bath) and all with individually controlled air conditioning/heating, central music system and telephone line.

For the season 2020-2021 all extra services such as: drivers, guided tours, wine tours/wine tastings, cooking classes, masseuse, hair dresser, hot-air ballooning, boat tours and many more, will be provided by the house concierge exclusively. This is for security reasons because it is important for the owners to know all the people who access the villas, in order to ensure the safety and privacy of our guests.
