About this space

STR25-5543: Location, Location, Location!!! You don't need a car....Historic Kerrytown District just steps from the Kerrytown Farmer's Market, famous Zingerman's Deli, Main Street and shops and restaurants. Walk to University of Michigan campus or University Hospital. Everything at your fingertips here! This location was renovated 2/18 after 15 years. Ann Arbor Guesthouses did it again!

The space
Ann Arbor Guest House #1 is located in the heart of Ann Arbor's historic Kerrytown District and one block from Bellanina Day Spa. This exclusive residence is on the second floor of a 170 year old home surrounded by antique perennials and across from Kerrytown Shops and Market and the famed Kerrytown Farmer's Market (open Wednesdays & Saturdays in season). The area is vibrant with life and activity. With the Kerrytown Concert House next door, classical and jazz music often escapes their confines and fills the Guest House! The charm of this house keeps regulars, such as parents of kids at U of M or those coming for football weekends coming back. It becomes their home away from home. We have housed many professors for short and extended stays or couples come to escape their work-a-day world in search of a little peace and quiet from the kids and a night on the town. We opened this Guesthouse in 2003 and just completed its' second renovation in February of 2018.

I lived here for a few months between homes and I loved it! Everything is at your fingertips. No need to cook although your kitchen is well stocked! Prepared foods are everywhere and I found it less expensive than cooking, to get hot food at The People’s Food Coop’s hot bar just a block down the street. Plus, the food is non-GMO, and organic.

Yes, there is a bus stop a block away and there are cabs and Ubers at a moment's notice. There is an electric charging station a block away. But, the best thing is that you can walk all over town in every direction in less than 10 minutes!

Guest access
This is a private residence with a private entry that takes you to the second floor. There is another Guesthouse, "The Tranquil Farmhouse" down below on the first floor and an office on the lower level.

Other things to note
Front patio for people watching and smokers.

Small pets are allowed with prior approval.
There is a $25 pet fee plus $10 per day. Sorry, no cats as owner is allergic to cat dander. Please bring sheets to cover any furniture that you are planning to allow your dog onto. If you are leaving your pet alone in the Guesthouse, please leave them in the kitchen. We have a gate that you can use to block the door which is kept in the hall closet. That way, they are with their water and food bowl and on ceramic tile floors. The reason for this is that we have found that dogs will follow their owners down the stairs to the front door and stay there watching and barking while their owner is away which disturbs the downstairs guests. Otherwise, please crate them if you are leaving them alone. If you agree with our policy, your small pet is welcomed.

About Nina Howard

Ann Arbor Vacation Rentals by Nina Howard My life is ruled by my 5 pound dog, Ling-Ling. I never thought a tiny dog could have such power over me! When I am not playing with her, I am busy running 5 Guest Houses in Ann Arbor or painting and gardening at my mini-farm in the mountains. I call North Carolina mountains my home but travel back and forth to Ann Arbor, enjoying my time in one of the 5 Guest Houses. What a life! Nina Howard purchased this apartment in 1901 Why Nina Howard chose Ann ArborThe growing demand for short term rentals (or vacation rentals) in the downtown Ann Arbor area have propelled me to continue to expand my offering. This sweet apartment is located in the old Pasadena Apartment Building on Division Avenue. The building is over 100 years old but the interiors have been completely renovated including newly refinished floors, walls, kitchen, bath making it a jewel box, much like a pied-à-terre in central downtown Ann Arbor. What makes this apartment uniqueClose to everything. Within walking distance to U of M (near Diag), U of M Museum, Law School, library, restaurants, shopping. Park your car behind this Guest House and walk to everything including the Big House (U of M Stadium). Relax on your private patio. Laundry facilities in the basement. It's all here!
