About this space

Craftsman Style River House sitting on the French Broad River!

NEW HOT TUB INSTALLED MARCH 2025!!!! Please come stay! We are open for guests and River Rd has been repaired. If you want something different you have found it! Constructed from reclaimed materials by the owner featuring two bedrooms and two full baths w/deluxe showers. We are located 6 miles (3 of the six miles are gravel) from the Appalachian Trail town of Hot Springs, NC and a 45 minute drive from Asheville NC.

Perfect for a relaxing get away and equally great for the outdoor enthusiast!
Sit on the porch and watch the River flow by! Build a campfire and roast some marshmallows, maybe even pitch a tent. Put on your hiking shoes and enjoy some of the many nearby trails.
The French Broad River works great for Kayaks, Canoes, Tubes and Rafts. Put in up river and get out right at your cabin!
We are told by local fishermen that we have one of the best fishing spots on the River! Also, just down the road is a Premier Trout Fishing Creek located in the "Paint Creek Corridor."
Close to Mtn. Bike Trails a world class Trout Fishing Stream, hiking or back packing.
This is a bird watchers paradise! You may catch a glimpse of the resident bald eagle that frequently circles overhead or hear the geese honking as they fly up and down the river in formation.

Pull out your bicycle and ride a 24 mile loop from Paint Creek to Hot Springs or a shorter 12 mile loop through Paint Creek Corridor and back.
One of the greatest features to enjoy is the large, beautiful wrap around porch (NOW WITH HOT TUB!) and the private upper veranda
On the main level you enter from covered car port into open concept, full kitchen/living dining area with table and room to sit at the bar.
Leather Sectional, wood beams and fireplace with stone profile and wood stove insert add to the cozy feel of the cabin.
The bedroom on main level has walk in closet and King Size Bed. Main level bathroom is large w/Washer & Dryer, large tile shower and exit to wrap around covered porch that is 750 sq feet and has multiple doors for entry/exit convenience.

Upstairs, the Master Suite w/King Size bed and en suite bathroom has french doors leading to a private covered veranda overlooking the river. Hear the sounds of the rushing river and bask in the afternoon sun in private.

We hope you can come enjoy the peace and tranquility of this beautiful spot surrounded by the Pisgah and Cherokee National Forest and the French Broad River! Note: Ring Camera installed on door where you enter on carport for added security.   Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

About Tom & Leann Howard

Blue Ridge Mountains Cabin by Tom & Leann Howard We are Tom and Leann Howard and have two adult children and a few Boxers. Our son John is the oldest and our youngest is daughter, Jessica. This Craftsman Style Cabin was constructed by us, the Owners. It has taken a few years and we are so excited to finally be able to share it with others! We hope you enjoy it as much as we do! Why they chose this propertyWe fell in love with the property because of the beauty and abundance of outdoor activities available. Where else can you enjoy the River and Mountains and have the quaint town of Hot Springs nearby and also a short drive to Asheville, NC.Tom grew up camping in Paint Creek (Just down the road from the Cabin) as a child and spent many summers swimming in the clear cold water and hiking the many trails that the Cherokee National Forest offers. We accidentally stumbled upon this spot on a full moon night after a visit to the Hot Springs Spa Hot Tubs. We fell in love with this spot and couldn't get it out of our minds. It is an amazing place to decompress and enjoy family and friends. What makes this property uniqueRiver front, private, large outdoor living space with room for several tents in the summer if needed. Also access to 5 acre common area that has pavilion and fire pit and ability to pull out larger rafts there. Common area is owned by 6 different owners inc. us and if you happen to meet them they are a cool bunch to get to know. "There are some restrictions to use of common area." Great place to ride Bicycles, walk, hike, sit around and play music and get inspired by nature. Avid bird watchers tell us that this area is a local hot spot for bird watching. Short drive to Asheville and about an hour and a half to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and the areas of Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and theme park, Dollywood.
