VIEWS, PRIVACY with EASY ACCESS to Asheville. The Chalet has large rooms, lots of spaces to gather together as a group as well as areas for more intimate relaxation! A wall of windows with pastoral and mountain views in the LR, opens to the 900 square foot deck and Dining Room with views and seating for 10-12. Hot Tub below, a ground deck shaded by Wisteria, and 8 acres to roam all create a magical and peaceful escape.
Come stay at the Asheville Country Chalet, and you’ll unquestionably find it be one of the most unique vacation rentals in the area! The home accommodates to 10 in beds (we permit 12 for additional fees, couches/loveseat and sectional sofa are all super comfy!). You’ll find plenty of space indoors and out. Modeled after a Swiss Chalet, numerous modern convenience updates still maintain the original character and rustic elegance (yes, more updating is needed and on "the list"... Kitchen and baths are fully functional. We have our vision, and welcome your suggestions for those renovations). Designed for both comfort and entertaining, this custom-built Passive Solar home offers generously-sized rooms, and seemingly endless areas to gather…or to enjoy a little solitude and tranquility.

Situated on 8 private acres, the Caretaker's cottage is on the adjoining property. She is available should issues arise and, otherwise, respects your privacy.
Access is by Interstate and 4 miles on a state highway. This is an easy drive with no steep and winding mountain roads.

ANIMAL FRIENDLY, Pets must:
• Have current vaccinations and flea preventative, and a recent bath!
• Be leashed if not fully controllable by voice commands
• Not wander into the neighbors' yards
• Not get on furniture without using the 'Dog Sheets' provided to protect couches and bedding
We charge a nominal fee of $25 per pet. We do require guests to maintain control over pets, walk them as needed, prevent damage to the property or furnishings, clean up all messes, and scoop poop out of the upper yard.
EARLY CHECK-IN/LATE CHECK-OUT: Must be approved by owner in advance and are not always available. Fees are $25/hour.
LOCATION: This property is 17 miles from Asheville’s city limits, approximately a 20-25 minute drive to the heart of downtown (rush hour slows you down in the mountains, too). It is easily accessed via Interstate 26 and Highway 197, with no curvy mountain roads to maneuver. There are also several cab companies and Uber drivers that can transport groups to and from downtown.
It is 10 minutes to the charming historic towns of Weaverville and Mars Hill. It’s only a few miles to the Coleman Boundary area of the Pisgah National Forest, 3 miles to Navitat Canopy Adventures (quite possibly the best zipline company in the country), and the French Broad River is nearby: kayaking, rafting, tubing, and fly fishing are offered by several local Outfitters. Bent Creek recreation area in Asheville ranks among the top 10 Mountain Biking sites in the country!
Voted 'Beer City' USA for 4 consecutive years, there is more than the fabulous craft breweries in Asheville. LaZoom Comedy Tours offer family-friendly as well as 'R-rated' adult entertainment, the Blue Ridge Parkway is beautiful any time of year, the Biltmore Estate is the largest privately-owned house in the United States and is open for tours year-round, the Arboretum and Botanical Gardens are lovely, and other recreational options are seemingly endless! Mix in Asheville's cuisine, art, and music... you are not likely to find a quaint vacation destination with so much to offer!
