This house sits on over 10 private wooded acres, at the base of the Massanutten Mountains. Approximately 2/3 of an acre of lawn and gardens surround the house. Walnut Springs gets its name from the several large Walnut trees around the home and the natural springs that bubble out of the ground and cascade along the driveway during most of the year. We are surrounded by 100’s of private wooded acres that border the George Washington National Forest. While you may feel like you are in complete solitude, you are only 2 miles from the heart of New Market and route 81 and less than 1/2 mile off route 211. The house was built in 1927 and has been newly renovated with modern appliances and furnishings. We kept its original charm with exposed hand cut beams and timbers, stone stairs on the front porch and original rolled glass in many of the windows. While at Walnut Springs you can relax in an overstuffed leather chair, or rocking chairs with your favorite book, watching a video on the SAMSUNG UHD Smart TV. It can be connected via Wi-Fi or HDMI cable to your laptop or smart phone hot spot connection. This allows you to bring your own portable cable connection or use the Smart Tv apps to connect through your own hot spot or cable access. This UHD TV is pre-installed with all the major apps with access to 1000’s of movies, and additional shows. Instructions are on property for reference. The second TV, a regular HD TV, is connected also to a DVD player and VHS player. while you relax in the living room or bedroom, sit on the sofa in front of the gas fireplace, sit out on the screened in front porch and watch the purple mountains majesty of the sunset, look for wildlife, or just fall asleep listening to the birds and cascading stream.
