Stunning vaulted ceilings with exposed wooden beams and calm, neutral colours make the open-plan living area feel fresh and bright. Snuggle up on the comfy sofas in the evening in front of the wood burner and it's soon a cosy haven. Drift off to sleep in one of the indulgent bedrooms; in the morning as soon as you wake up, venture out through the French doors and take in the invigorating fresh air.

After you've explored the pastureland and lake, and exhausted all the available outdoor games, head further to bustling Bude (10 miles) and enjoy all things by the seaside. The tidal pool near Crooklets Beach is well worth a visit. The Tamar Lakes Country Park (12 miles) is a great spot for those looking for a more active holiday with sailing, windsurfing and kayaking available, while RHS Garden Rosemoor is a perfect place for a peaceful walk among pretty shrubs and trees.
