About this space

Stunning Spiritual Sanctuary (recently renovated) - Condo in Boone

This is a 1,100 square foot, 1-bedroom, 1-bath condo with an upstairs loft, 40-foot ceilings, contemporary furniture, nice touches, and a view that has to be seen to be believed. PLR

Well behaved dogs are welcome. No large/barking breeds. Two dogs max.

Internet is strong, cell phone is not. Unloading can be a challenge, not great place for elderly or children, a lot of stairs.

Some of windows don't close fully. Please prepare for your arrival and read this closely.

The condo is located atop one of the highest mountain peaks in eastern Northern America.
It sits upon the grounds of The Art of Living Retreat Center, which (for extra charge) offers dining, Ayurvedic Spa services, yoga and meditation classes, hiking, and more.
This condo serves as an awe-inspiring getaway, with breathtaking one-hundred mile views. Ideal for a couple, but there is a futon upstairs if you have children.

On heavenly mountain central air is virtually unheard of because of evening breezes. Still, in the summer, it can get warm in the afternoon. There is no central air.
People come here for hiking, romantic weekends and spiritual excursions. Thus, it is authentic and clean, but not luxurious. The furniture on the deck is a little old and weathered, for example.

Also, there is a big desk with executive chair and basic office supplies -- ideal for getting a lot of inspired work done. Wifi is super strong and reliable.
There isn't a dining room set, but there are stools for the island and placemats for the coffee table.

The building has 12 units. A few of them are presently occupied. It is a very quiet spiritual community of mediators and yogis. My neighbors are kind and respectful, please be the same. The front porch is spacious, but occasionally shared.
This is an end unit. So there is no need for another person to ever walk by. Thus, I have chosen not to have window shades, it enhances the view expereince. If you are super modest or private....bring a bathrobe or select another place to stay.
Finally, it took me five years to find a rock star housekeeper. You could eat your breakfast out of the bath tub. But, she lives 30 miles away. Occasionally, based on her schedule, and seasonality, I may require a 3 night min.
It takes time to get oriented and see all there is to see. Late Friday night to early Sunday morning people don't get the full "experience." I'd rather have you back when you have more time.

For your convenience, I can get you a document with entry information, what to bring/what is provided, directions, FAQs, etc. before you check in. But check in information will appear on your ABB dashboard before check in.

NOTE -- attached documents don't make it through the Airbnb server. When your reservation is accepted, it will be necessary for us to email outside their system to exchange a very useful PDF.

If you don't want to cook or drive into town, the Art Of Living Retreat Center dining hall serves three delicious vegetarian buffet meals a day for around 15-20$ It's the big yellow building two doors down.

Speaks

About Thomas Bell

Boone Vacation Home in North Carolina by Thomas Bell I purchased this condominium during a four year hiatus from the corporate world, where I embarked on a bucket list adventure to visit the most sacred places on the planet, and acquire the highest knowledge. From the Himalayas and the Ganges River to Machu Picchu, to Kauai, Joshua Tree, Vietnam, and The Black Forrest of Germany. My journey eventually led me to Heavenly Mountain, in Boone, NC, where I was on the "steering committee" to build and market what is now the Art of Living Retreat Center, reporting directly to Sri Sri. Yes, Boone, North Carolina, an International spiritual epicenter. The Blue Ridge Mountains--and this area in particular -- are considered to be among the most sacred mountains on earth. Older than the Himalayas, they are composed almost entirely of granite, which is a natural energy conductor. Many people claim they can feel the energy, and meditators flock here for this reason. The Cherokee Indians held ceremony on Heavenly Mountain for centuries to honor the change of seasons. Even the most cynical admit to feeling something after a day or two up here. And a week will set you straight for several months. My summer volunteer assignment turned into two years. This condo served as my sanctuary, where I was able to write, do volunteer work, connect with nature and discover a deeper sense of purpose for the next chapter of my life. Mission accomplished! To say that I enjoyed my time here would be a massive understatement. It is my pleasure to pay it forward and share this extraordinary place with you. I have recently relocated to Dallas, TX, where I am an Communications Trainer. I wanted to live closer to my mother, who inspires me daily, and I crave the energy of a big city as well as the seclusion of the countryside. I am a live music nut, and still seek out the best summer music and yoga festivals. Other passions include Border Collies, Thai and Indian cuisine, fly fishing, mountain biking, hiking up waterfalls, the Denver Broncos, John Steinbeck, Tony Robbins, the Allman Brothers, Dead and Company, the Head and the Heart, Van Morrison, Krishna Das, and (obviously) the ancient wisdom teachings of the East, including Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Yogananda, Eckart Tolle and Barron Baptiste. (my library is kept stocked for your enjoyment) I return to Boone frequently to rest, rejuvenate and recharge the batteries...and of course to escape the Texas heat.
