Lakemore Retreat is comprised of two rental properties: 'Lakemore Lodge' and 'Lakemore Cottage,' all next door to each other on the shores of Arbutus Lake. Pictured here, with the red exterior, is Lakemore Lodge. Lakemore Cottage is the green house. The Cottage and Lodge are luxury homes built in 2015 that each sleep 12, but no more. They are side by side and offer exactly the same amenities and floor plan, just with very different interior design. The properties are rented individually, but many families rent all three for the same time period, altogether sleeping up to 34 people comfortably. Make reservations for Lakemore Lodge and look for Lakemore Cottage for large groups; you can rent both. In the winter, AWD or 4X4 vehicles are required to access the property.

The Lodge, a mirror image of the cottage’s floor plan with all the same amenities, takes on a dramatically different feel with rich walnut architectural detail and metal accents. This “industrial chic” style home will remind you of a mountainside lodge, yet the tranquil views of Arbutus Lake sunsets will make you glad you are vacationing in Northern Michigan.

Come enjoy the many benefits of this all-sports inland lake where the 395 acres are swimmable from May until October, the fishing is plentiful, and the conditions are perfect for many water sports including kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, water skiing, and tubing, all while being minutes away from Traverse City’s restaurants, shops, wineries, golf, and more. On-site tri-toon rental is available within the Lakemore brand.

Lakemore Retreat is directly adjacent to The Brown Bridge Quiet Area, which offers miles of hiking trails. Like to snowmobile? Leave right from the property and access the Boardman Valley Trail System's 81 miles of trails! The Boardman River is also within 3 miles, a great place for river tubing, kayaking, canoeing, and fishing. We are only 7 miles from Vasa Single Track, a great mountain bike trail system. In addition, the Vasa is home to 25 km of groomed cross-country ski trails. Mount Holiday is only 15 minutes away, a local downhill ski hill that also offers snow tubing and zip lining. Crystal Mountain Ski Resort is only 30 miles away.

This setting is perfect for relaxing lakefront vacationing away from the hustle of town, but be sure to leave time for a short 15-minute drive to the city. Traverse City is well known for its lakefront, with countless shops and restaurants. The greater Traverse City Area is nationally recognized for Old Mission Peninsula and the Leelanau Peninsula's many wineries, as well as the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park.
