****COVID-19- DUE TO THE EMERGENCY PROCLAMATION OF THE OFFICE OF THE MAYOR OF HAWAII PER THE RULE OF THE GOVERNOR'S ORDER THE FOLLOWING IS REQUIRED: All vacation rentals "must cease operations, including advertising... effective April 13, 2020 at 12:01 a.m. and shall continue throughout the present emergency caused by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, or until terminated by my order." Due to this order our calendar is blocked until further notice.

***We want all potential guests to know that, we are highly encouraging all travelers to comply with this order, and all travel orders in place, including lodging at hotels, motels, Bed and Breakfasts, short-term rentals, or time-shares.

Hawaii currently is under a mandatory 14 day Self Quarantine (including inter-island travel) for everyone arriving to any of the Hawaiian islands (excluding ONLY essential workers), and under this order, the arriving guest will not be able to even obtain essentials such as shopping for food on the way to the house, or leaving the property for any reason other than to seek medical attention for the duration of your stay or 14 days, which ever is first. You will receive a quarantine form upon disembarking the plane, with your address of lodging on the form, and your rental cars information (license plate and description).

Since there are very few arriving passengers, this order is being enforced, and arrivals are being monitored and checked on to confirm whether they are complying to the order.

We are about 25 minutes from Hilo Airport, conveniently located between Hilo AND the Volcanoes National Park, in the sub-division of Ainaloa on the border of the towns of Keaau and Pahoa (please check map for our sub-division as map markers are not exact).

We are happy to offer our guests what VERY, VERY few vacation rentals can. In the past, Hilo has not needed A/C as we typically receive nice trade winds from the east, but in the last few years, there has been some climate change and more days without the trades, which can make it very humid. So, we decided to add a large A/C system that allows each room to have it's own separately controlled temperatures. SO....ENJOY YOUR TIME AT THE COTTAGE IN COOL COMFORT!!!

RELAX AND ENJOY THE BEAUTY OF THE TROPICAL GARDENS AND FRUIT TREES, IN OUR QUIET AND PEACEFUL GARDEN RETREAT! We love to share the fresh fruit from our garden with you, you're welcome to pick fresh bananas, pineapple, papayas, guava, and coconut, a special treat when it's ripe!

This is a newer home, and we give our full attention to detail with updates and maintenance being addressed at all times, so that everything is clean, organized and easily accessible. We have a professional team including Housekeepers, Landscapers, Pest Control, Maintenance, and Hospitality, to give you a resort feel, but in a private home.

KITCHEN- fully stocked with high quality dishes and cookware, and extras like crock pot, baking dishes, rice cooker, veggie steamer, Keurig Coffee maker (and regular), and lots more.

LANAI (PATIO)- Outdoor Living in the 500 sq. ft. Screened-In Lanai, with patio furniture and dining table

LAUNDRY- Washer and Dryer for your use at no charge with laundry soap provided

2 BDRMS - 1st bedroom- California King, and 32 in TV.

2nd bedroom has a Queen bed

Additional Queen Pull-Out sleeper in the Living Rm. and a

Pack-n-Play Portable crib for the little ones.

The Cottage has a very comfortable warm "vibe" where family and friends come together and enjoy the open air screened Lanai, and tropical garden to spend time together to play games, visit and relax.

**OHANA**

There is a separate studio cottage on the property that is now used as a longer term rental for 1 to 3 months, but only for professionals that are on the island for business such as scientist, geologist, medical personnel, which are fully verified and screened prior to approval to rent. They are working professionals that we closely screen and verify their professional assignments, in most cases doctors, nurses, and therapists. They will not interfere with your space or privacy, and have a separate driveway, and their cottage does not share any walls to the main cottage. Laundry is the only shared amenity, but we request them to do laundry in between guests, so as not to disturb our vacation guests.

**VOLCANO NATIONAL PARK- If you have any questions, at the time of your reservation, feel free to visit Volcanoes National Park website for current info. and we are happy to help answer any questions we can as well. (about 30 mins)

2018 KILAUEA FLOW - WHERE LAVA CROSSES THE ROAD- See where the 2018 flow crossed the road and made brand new Black Sand Beaches, as well as the way it has reshaped the lower rift zone and the communities affected. (between 20-35 mins to these sights)

Whale Watching- (Seasonal) see the Humpback Whales migrating Dec-Mar. right from the shore- (10 mins)

Relax and take a Beautiful scenic drive through the lush green side and stop at one of the many magnificent waterfalls.

Rainbow Falls- (25 mins)

Akaka Falls and Nature walk- (30 mins)

Botanical Gardens (along the 4 mile scenic drive route)- (30 mins)

Kaumana Caves Lava Tube- Explore a huge lava tube in their natural state, and see the amazing way the island was formed, entrance is free. (20 mins)

Mauna Kea- Watch the sunset or sunrise and see what the island looks like from above the clouds at 10,000 ft. elevation and for those who love the stars there’s World Class Star Gazing with Narrated free tours, as the different planets rise. (1 hr drive)

Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Factory and Pana'ewa Rainforest Zoo- It's the ONLY natural tropical rainforest zoo in the U.S. and it's free! (less than 10 minutes away).

Visit Black Sand Beaches almost guaranteed to see Turtles sun bathing...and there's so much more!
