Two waterfront cottages together sleep 10+ and have lots of privacy. There are 41+ acres of secluded woodland a mile+ of private lakeshore. Halfway to Burlington and Montreal (30&60) miles) This is a rustic family compound for 96 years. We offer a canoe and 35' dock. We Rent the cottages as one for your health and safety. The 2 bedroom cottage sleeps 7 (counting 2 futons) smaller has a double looking thru sliding doors directly on the lake, plus a day bed living room, a cot in another small room for a small person. Discount for longer stays. Both are 30 feet from the lake, 400 feet from the road no other house insight, we mow about 2 acres around the houses, which are surrounded by cedar trees. An active beaver pond is adjacent - fishing is great and the sunsets are beautiful. Coffee & fresh baked goods every morning in the village Just a bit north there is another fully stocked grocery with great butcher shop and prepared food,home made fudge, maple creamie window etc. North Hero is one of the islands an island.in Lake Champlain. which once was an inland sea. The 100 acreGoodsell fosil reef is now open for walking tours, the restored Fisk barn always open and showing local artists.

Church dinners were frequent, many farmers markets near, honor system -there are many good restaurants snack bars, and antique shops. Stowe gondola rides are 60 miles. Shelburne museum, is huge (google it) has the world largest carriage collection, farm, and reconstructed idealic Vt. village is unique.It wass built by the Vanderbilts (Biltmore House in Ashville NC) Ausable Chasm, the Grand Canyon of the East is just a ferry boat ride across the Lake Fort Ticonderoga, with reenactments. is huge. Lots of other US, French and English forts are very close, including Fort Blunder(built on the Canadian side by mistake) We offer a truly rustic country private escape with great fishing and lots to explore.
