Nestled along the serene shores of Big Platte Lake in Honor, Michigan, this spacious lakefront retreat offers a perfect getaway for families and groups of up to 12.

The shallow, sandy lake is is a delight for kids and adults alike, while the extended dock invites quiet moments fishing or stargazing.

Enjoy cozy evenings by the fire pit or relax on the large wrap-around deck with panoramic lake views. Inside, five spacious bedrooms include a first-floor master with a private bathroom and four upstairs, with vaulted ceilings, and two with sliding glass doors to a lake-view deck.

A full kitchen, laundry room with washer and dryer, and 3 bathrooms. Just a short trip to Platte River canoe trips, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Platte Beach, with Traverse City a 40-minute drive. This inviting home is your perfect home away from home hideaway.

Explore the iconic Dune Climb, scenic Pierce Stocking Drive, and Empire Bluff Trail at Sleeping Bear Dunes, or rent canoes for trips on the Platte River. The area offers award-winning beaches and hiking trails, perfect for adventure seekers.

Platte Lake Vacation Home by Walter E Miller I'm a retired Automotive Engineer/builder who loves to travel and visit with family. I enjoy Zydeco / cajun dancing, water actives, snowboarding, hiking, cars, motorcycles, and travelling to dance festivals. I have three children, one daughter and two sons. My daughter lives in Houston, TX and my sons live in Boston, MA, and Orlando, FL, five grand sons and one grand daughter. I very much enjoy spending time with my family. I'm living in Denver. Why they chose this propertyI've owned this property since 1980, the property has been in the family since the 50's. I used to vacation here as a child and cherish lots of great memories. In 2001 I decided to demolish and rebuild the lake house. As a licensed residential Michigan builder, my son and I spent three years designing and building a special setting with maximum lake views. The 'peninsula lot setting' with the closeness of the dwelling to the water makes for great lake views. The natural beauty with Southern exposure and love for the area is why this Lake House will be in the Miller family for a long long time. What makes this property uniqueThis area of Michigan is beautiful. The float trips on Platte river, climbing The Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes, hiking on the wilderness trails with all the wildlife makes for an unforgettable up north experience. The activities/festivals in surrounding cities, local parades, year-round activities at Crystal Mountain, Big lake fishing (coho, salmon), the freshness of the air, the peaceful environment, the beauty of the sun and moon light on the water from the balcony with the wind, sun and clouds creating endless views/beauty.
